Gerge Bush Visiting Britain - Protest!

John Shemeld | 08.06.2008 15:21

George W. Bush (none other) will be visiting his friend Gordon Brown in London on Sunday, 15 June (next Sunday!). If you think that this visit should not go un-marked, read on.

Obviously, it is Time to Demonstrate!

The last time George Bush was here, in November 2003, it provoked one of the biggest mid-week demonstrations in British history, with up to 300,000 on London's streets.

Since then his war of (not on) terror has led to the loss of over a million lives and spread from Iraq and Afghanistan to Pakistan, Somalia and Kenya, with ever intensifying threats suggesting Iran is next.

Nottingham Stop the War Coalition will be running coaches from Nottingham down to the protest in London. They'll leave from outside the Salutation Inn on Maid Marion Way at 8:30am (on Sunday, 15 June) and also pick up at Nottingham University (Portland Building).

The cost is £16 if you are waged or £8 unwaged (a student, unemployed, etc.). Call Mark on 07947 609 401 to buy a ticket and reserve a seat. Derby Indian Workers Association has already reserved 10.

If you want to come, but have a problem getting to one of the pick-up points by 8:30am on a Sunday morning, let us know.

Keep an eye on the websites: www.nottmagainstwar.org.uk and www.stopwar.org.uk for the latest developments on this protest.

Don't miss this excellent opportunity to confront that pair!

Nottingham Co-ordinator,
Stop the War Coalition,
