In a time when the greed of a privileged few has the potential to not only deprive us of our freedom and security but also to threaten the very existence of our species it is crucial to discuss the central driving force behind this growing threat to our planet - capitalism.
Our perspective is that both capitalism and the state not only allow but actively encourage and rely upon the destruction of our environment and the pillaging of our natural resources.
We believe that only through the free organisation of working class people struggling for the revolutionary reconstruction of our society can we ever hope to create an ecologically sustainable future for humanity.
Join the debate! 2pm, 7 June 08, in the Global Issues and Social Justice Area at Newcastle Community Green Festival, Leazes Park, Richardson Road, Newcastle upon Tyne.
