Re. Amdani Juma, H.O.ref. A1179608.

Mr. Byrne,

The Nottingham community are demanding an explanation from you regarding the decisions that have led to the detention and threatened removal to Burundi of Amdani Juma on 4th June.

The community are demanding that Mr Juma is awarded bail until the following questions are answered.

TELL US WHY Amdani has been refused on the grounds that allowing him to stay was not in the “interests of the community”.

Allowing Amdani to stay is in the interests of the Nottingham and East Midlands Community and a huge amount of evidence was provided at his hearing to support this.

Alan Simpson, MP for Nottingham South has said: “I am not aware of any refugee who has made the contribution to the city and its communities comparable to that made my Mr Juma. He is an outstanding asset. Removing him from the UK would leave Nottingham and beyond much the
poorer.”

TELL US WHY Amdani is being returned to Burundi, a country which is so unsafe that it is impossible to get an international flight and where human rights organisations and the UN have reported ongoing human rights abuses including harassment and torture.

In the interests of justice the Nottingham Community are demanding that you should answer our questions, review the adjudicators Determination and Reasons and that Amdani Juma be bailed until this happens.

Yours sincerely
