I think that hiding a perfectly acceptable article expressing some dissatisfaction with editorial policy about sums up what is driving people away from Indymedia.
Look long and hard Mods, you are turning this into a toothless clique.
I've read before that post about editorial policy get hidden not because of their content, but because people with criticisms or compliments should email all moderators, to their email list, as detailed on the site

The admins all make the request that complaints or comments about moderation should be sent to the moderation list (in the past the features list). Great idea, in keeping with the editorial guidelines except there is a problem. Both the moderation and feature lists are auto moderated. That means unless you have an email and IP that is on the approved list your email will be blocked and not sent to the broader list.
This is an old trick that has been used for some time now to try and hide the many emails of complaint that have been coming in. That is why I posted my words and decisions directly to the newswire, I knew they would be hidden and I suspected that they would be edited, like many others recently but so far that has not been the case.

The moderation list is auto blocked unless your ip and email is on the approved list. Thats why I didn't send it there. It just goes into a black whole that they ignore. I heard from one of the admins that about 30 emails a week are blocked like that.

See also for example the responses to Lucy Fisher's emails to the Moderation list a few weeks ago, over moderation of posts/comments on Israel/Palestine and anti-Semitism. She was told "don't expect any sympathy" (sic) and to wait for individual moderators to explain themselves further - mostly they never did.
At least you get some sympathy with hidden Newswire posts - from the ?c=all Club!
Whereas I'm sure hardly any non-moderators would bother to keep up with the Moderation archives as well.
