Images from the London anti-Boris Johnson tube demo

Billy Macrae | 01.06.2008 17:20 | Culture | Free Spaces | London

Images from the demo/flashmob event on London underground's circle line, 31st May 2008.
More of a party than a demo, this event attracted thousands of people wanting to stick two fingers up at Boris Johnson's new policy of zero alcohol on the tube.
It got out of hand at the end, a big flock of police turned up, and things got nasty.

Twats

What a bunch of overpaid twats and yuppie dorks. What does protest involve now puking up and pissing in the name of Anarchy.

Uh...

Nice pics but uh, why are they waving union jacks with Boris's face in the centre?

Seems kind of pro-Boris to me?

Good news for the booze industry

02.06.2008 11:04

The alcohol industry's Public Relations pixies will be delighted with the coverage that this 'event' got. Indymedia promoting it as well. Naturally.

You proved Boris right

Well done on giving Boris an excellent piece of propaganda for why we need such laws. Perhaps he organised it himself.

Not need to organise it himself, plenty of activists ready to damage their own cause and other activists eager to encourage them.

Johnston may have helped the press to cover the 'event'; that's called politics.

The alcohol industry seems to have a firm idealogical grip on a lot of activists. Funny that.

you were USED

02.06.2008 19:36

You were used by a young chap who's friend was a senior person under the old Red Ken administration who was sacked when Boris took over.

The REAL agenda was to stoke up anti Boris sentiment, nothing to do with the drink ban, which Ken wanted to do (as well as banning hot food), and everything to do with sour grapes at his friend being ejected from the taxpayer funded gravy train.

Maybe the leech will have to find a real job now she's not being feather bedded by the hard pressed London taxpayer!

In the meantime, you've all been used as part of this sour-grapes campaign!
