854 million people across the world are hungry.

In a 1970 UN Resolution, most industrialised nations committed themselves to tackling global poverty by spending 0.7 percent of their national incomes on international aid by 1975. Only Norway, Sweden, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Denmark regularly meet his target

‘Remember the 37’ is a group dedicated to creating awareness about the global food crisis. Setup by MA International Journalism students at London’s City University, it is named after the 37 countries most affected by the food crises.

So spread the word and invite all your friends to join. And feel free to use the discussion board to raise issues and post articles.

The following is the list of the 37 countries most affected by the crises based upon information from the Food and Agricultural Organizattion of the United Nations.

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Burundi, Chad, China, Côte d'Ivoire, Dominican Republic, Ethiopia, Ecuador, Eritrea, Guinea, Haiti, Iraq, Kenya, Liberia, Lesotho, Mauritania, Moldova, Nepal, Nicaragua, North Korea, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Swaziland, Tajikistan, Timor-Leste, The Central African Republic, The Democratic Republic of the Congo, The Republic of the Congo, The Republic of Ghana, The Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Uganda, Vietnam, Zimbabwe.
