Six Palestinians demonstrators, who were among thousands peacefully protesting the siege on Gaza, have been injured by Israeli fire.

Thousands of people took to streets to join a rally called by Hamas to demand Israel to lift its crippling blockade on the Strip.

The protesters marched from the cities of Rafah and Khan Yunis in southern Gaza towards the Sufa crossing, calling for the end of Israeli atrocities in Gaza.

The demonstrators waving Hamas flags chanted anti-Israeli slogans, condemning the regime for committing a holocaust in Gaza.

Gaza emergency services said six people were wounded when Israeli forces fired on the protesters who approached the frontier fence.

A military spokesman had earlier said Israeli forces would 'operate in all strength to prevent anybody from damaging the fence or the crossing or entering' the occupied territories (Palestinian land).

Israel has imposed a crippling embargo on Gaza which has been under Hamas control since last year (after Israel and America failed in their Coup attempt, which sought to overthrow the ELECTED Government), described by former US president Jimmy Carter as one of the greatest human rights crimes existing on Earth.
