Ian Painter, a solicitor within Her Majesty Revenue and Customs, (HMRC) has admitted that Andi Ali, a post gradate student at the University of Newcastle was racially victimized by HMRC staff when he worked at the Tax Credit Office in Preston. Mr Ali was falsely accused of sexual harassment when details of him appeared on a far right hate site called Redwatch accusing him of various sexual crimes. He was also accused of expressing support for suicide bombers, because he wore an Arabic headscarf, and for being an extremist for heckling the BNP. Said Mr Painter, in all my years as a Civil Servant, this is the worst case of racial harassment, victimization and discrimination I have ever come across. The case is currently being investigated by the police and that is all I can say at the moment.
