Wickham Laboratories in Hampshire, which tests anything on animals from pharmaceuticals to kitchen cleaner, faces demolition if the owner (Cartmell) gets the go-ahead to replace the lab with 14 new homes.

Owner of the hell hole William Cartmell plans to tear down the controversial labs and erect homes on the site in Winchester Road, Fareham, however there is nothing to celebrate as he is looking to move his torture prison to Torbay Farm in Lower Upham.

Cartmell has already has been granted permission to demolish the labs but is still seeking permission from Winchester City Council for his plans to build the homes. The new plans have far from been welcomed by Wickham Parish Council, as the animal abusers failed to consult local residents.

A date has not yet been set for the new planning application, which is to be considered by the council's committee. For Stop Wickham Animal Testing (SSAT) who hold annual marches in Wickham and regularly demonstrate outside the labs, this will just be the latest battle in a ongoing struggle to close this business down.
