I'm guessing that they're are doing more than just making soya to attract this kind of attention.

Why?

Do you hate tofu that much?

Ruby

it's not about the tofu

In the main article, there is a link to www.lasojamata.org. There you will find plenty of information about soy. it's not about the tofu... Currently, soy is animal fodder number ONE in the Western world. It is mainly produced in countries like argentina, brazil and paraguay, and production is increasing every year. To put it really simple: more than 95 percent of that soy is genetically modified roundup ready soy (monsanto) and is the only living thing around there that is resistent to ROUNDUP pesticides (of monsanto also), that is sprayed in incredible amounts. All the rest dies or gets sick: that means: all birds, insects, chickens, other vegetables for the campesinos (little farmers), their children, themselves. Everything has to go for this soy monoculture: all trees, communities and people. They are replaced by really big farmers that have a lot of capital to pay for machines and seeds, and these big farmers all have lucrative contracts with firms like Cargill (next to Bunge, ADM and Dreyfuss). These big firms are totally corrupt and sponsor private militias, police and army to get rid of ALL critical farmers.
Hell, it's a long story, but just look it up at the site mentioned above: www.lasojamata.org
