Scientology cult fails in attempt to ban word "cult" at anti-cult picket

Aim gun at foot. Pull trigger. Repeat until out of feet.

As reported on Indymedia earlier this month (see  http://publish.indymedia.org.uk/en/2008/05/398728.html ), police at a recent demonstration against the "Church" of Scientology" confiscated a placard from a teenage protestor due to its use of the word "cult." They were acting on advice from the Crown Prosecution Service, following complaints from the CoS about the use of the word "cult" and the slogan "Scientology kills."

The charges have now been dropped. From the Guardian ( http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/may/23/religion):

"A file was passed to the CPS, which today told City of London police it would not be pursuing the boy through the courts.

"A spokeswoman for the force said: "The CPS review of the case includes advice on what action or behaviour at a demonstration might be considered to be 'threatening, abusive or insulting'.

"'The force's policing of future demonstrations will reflect this advice.'"

The Church of Scientology's complaints were evidently intended to dissuade protestors from continuing their activities. Unfortunately, with news of this incident appearing in almost every major news outlet in the UK and many more internationally, it seems their plan has backfired.

The next demonstration against the Cult of Scientology will take place 14th June, in London and across the world.

discount scientology

23.05.2008 16:31

Don't forget about the "discount scientology" group/cult/org, which meets on the first Monday of each month at the wibbas pub in wimbledon. Our last (and first!) meeting was small, but successful. We moved off when we spotted some 'spook' type lurking around and continued our meeting elsewhere.

As a recognised religion/sect/cult we are entitled to exactly the same protection that the other scientology sect/cult claim. Just like in Islam, where there are Sunnis and Shias, or in Christianity, where there are Catholics and Protestants there are different types of scientology beliefs. We are DISCOUNT SCIENTOLOGISTS.
We have fun.
We drink xenu blasters.
We share knowledge for free.
We charge only 1% of the fees of our more expensive, so called, rivals.
We aim to get tax breaks for our members.

If anyone does not accept us they risk incurring the ritual of the 'dis' as well as being made fun of. Anyone who attacks us is a bigot.

I am you leader as chosen by lord xenu. xenu has told me that Hubbard got it wrong. Follow me or be damned.

Ahem, it's not just Scientology now: it's infiltrationism, City Plod & culture.

Scientology :
is a dangerous cult - defined as such by the French government,
inflitrationist - evidenced as such by the US government,
criminal - investigated as such by the Belgian government,
aggressive - videotaped as such by the BBC,
fraudulent - identifid as such by the German government.

Yet it is still operating freely on many of its levels; supposed organised worship, supposed drug rehabilitation, extensive real estate manangement, supposed mobilisation of groups concerned at psychiatric abuse in both the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Not one of us has escaped its influence on Hollywood the 2nd largest global production centre of popular cultural industry products and shaper of geopolitical as well as contemporary attitudes. There was never any substance to the allegations that either the supposed political system of communism or the supposed ethnic identity of jewishness had dominated the direction of Hollywood's products, plot-lines and so on so forth. There is little evidence that Scientologists have done anything but subvert essential tropes and memes of popular cultural transmission in the post-literary age of internet based knowledge. Just as now the cult of Scientology and those who work within and through its myriad organisations attempt to inflitrate the City of London Police, influence groups opposed to psychiatry in Ireland with its poor human rights showing on such issues and manipulate drug therapy issues - They have launched the most pernicious campaign ever seen on Internet freedom of opinion. Their attempts to silence critics on Youtube as well as other strategic nodal points are not to be compared with or interpreted against previous orchestrated campaigns by political interests or state entitites (such as right wing groups, "pro-life" groups, security services or police forces) on those who build or maintain websites or those who host their servers.

It is utterly too crass for that. Scientology and its devotees are in fact utterly crass. But their needs to continue the farcical and arrogant conceit of "Fair Game" are clearly serving the interests of others who are not Scientologists. Which is why we must and will stop the cult in both the UK and Ireland as well as globally.

It's Fair Game. & someone should have told auld mummy Hubbard that you never sit down and play some game till you see checkmate.
