Anonymous was not formed in 1996, as stated in the video. It was formed in 2008 as an anti-Scientology movement, and has its roots in internet subcultures, particularly based around certain imageboards (not former members, tho some former members are involved.)

Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "originally broken by Schnews" but the story appeared in a number of places (here for one) beforehand.

I said anti-Scientology movement. And Anonymous, as an anti-Scientology movement (i.e. the current wave of protests and other action) did begin in 2008. Anonymous as an entity or an idea or a however you want to define it has origins going back far further than this; I was referring specifically to the anti-Scientology element, as this was relevant in the context of the video.
