Free Foods Invades Nottingham

As part of 'National Vegetarian Week' Nottingham Animal Rights and Veggies Catering Campaign hosted a free food give-away opposite McShite on Monday 19th May.

As well as Veggies burgers, we were kindly donated burritos and italian style vegetable & smoked tofu sandwiches, by the Alley Cafe.

Dotty's Cafe (the brand new veggie cafe on Mansfield Road) also kindly donated vegan pizza and cute little vegan cup cakes.

Food was given to all ranges of the population, from vegans to meatys (including a couple of squaddies) and from homeless to home-owners(!)

As well as frightening Mcdonalds with free food, Mclibel leaflets were distributed outside the building.

So successful was this event that the group were inspired to repeat the exercise, joining forces with the 'Eastside Climate Action Group' on the Day of Action on 'Food & Climate Action' om June 3rd, to mark the opening of the UN Conference on World Food Security and Climate Change.
