American Car-bombs Are Not Terrorism

Peter Chamberlin | 17.05.2008 17:37 | Anti-militarism | Terror War | World

The US terror war is a plan of organized deception that is focused more upon the American people and our democratic allies than it is upon any enemy nation. The cycle of attacks and retribution is part of a psy-ops campaign of fear that is meant to frighten the people into complying with government demands. Everywhere, the American message is the same: “Join us in our crimes against humanity, or perish in our glorious shock and awe.”

The projected war on Iran is the central thesis in this campaign of fear. It may be true that our insane leaders are about to devastate Iran in a nuclear first strike, but it more likely that this is only what they want us to believe. This isn’t to say that we are not planning to attack Iran, only that I don’t believe that is the current plan. We will not know the truth until the passing of Bush ends these bullying threats. I believe that Bush’s threats are real, only that the immediate target is illusory. When the threatening cacophony of neocon and Zionist voices reaches a crescendo about Iran...

...that is when the rain of American bombs will begin to fall, but they will rain down upon Lebanon and Syria first.

Iran is a diversion at this time, even though it too, is being set up for the same sort of Bush/Israeli “Dahlan double-cross,” treatment that was accorded to the Palestinian Authority’s Mahmoud Abbas and all those like him who have collaborated with the forces of occupation.  http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/2008/04/gaza200804
Those who cooperate with Bush seal their own fates. Anyone who opposes outright submission to the demands of the would-be dictator is targeted for varying degrees of abuse, or elimination. Corrupted leaders like Abbas and Pakistan’s Musharref, who have sold-out their own people to join the US terror war, find themselves up against US-created opposition forces and an international press allayed against them. It is only a matter of time before the masters enter their favorite watchdogs in a real dogfight.
In Iraq, the Maliki government finds itself in the extremely awkward position of championing both US and Iranian causes, even though it is supposed to be opposed to Iranian interference. As the US puppet, Maliki’s “offensive” in the Shiite-dominant region of Basra in southern Iraq, is focused on eliminating the only truly populist nationalist movement of Muqtada al-Sadr and his Mehdi Army of Iraqi patriots. This is the focus of the Petraeus campaign, the attempted bombing of the Shiites into submission.
This is the choice that Iraqi Shiites must make (most of the Sunni opposition have already been put-on the American payroll), to defend their freedom and try to save their own family’s lives and then seeing their neighborhoods getting leveled as a result, or in submitting to the US government of Iraq and then receiving a bribe of $2.5 million in aid and reconstruction for Sadr City.  http://uruknet.info/?p=m43706&hd=&size=1&l=e
This is similar to the choice that the Iranians are being set-up for, in what is being called, The Iraqi initiative. According to Sec. Defense Gates, it amounts to:
"forcing (the Iranians) to make a choice: Do they want to work with the government of Iraq or to subvert the government of Iraq?”
America’s latest move has been to dispatch representatives of the Maliki government to Iran, to carry proof to the leadership that the Qods Forces are supplying Iranian weapons to the Mehdi Army. Supposedly, the Iraqis were given the authority to order retaliation against Iran, if the military could prove that Iran’s allies were attacking the government.  http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article19851.htm To Bush’s great disappointment, the Iraqis found the arms evidence that they presented to Iran to be inconclusive.  http://wiredispatch.com/news/?id=154536 After the failure of this latest scheme, both sides announced that further discussions would be “meaningless.”
“As long as US forces continue attacking Shiite militias in Baghdad, talks with America will have no results and will be meaningless."  http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/A230E5E2-7465-49BD-8FBE-5B598334C2E1.htm
"It's meaningless to have talks on anything with Iran as long as they don't change their behavior,"  http://uk.news.yahoo.com/afp/20080506/twl-iraq-3cd7efd.html
The Iraqis know that the evidence supplied by the Americans implicates their own allies in the Badr organization and their own Wolf Brigade. It is their task to retaliate for American and Israeli car-bombs that have been attributed to Sunni “al Qaida.” These Interior Ministry troops handle most of America’s dirty work in order to incite sectarian warfare, staging assassinations and late-night raids on Sunni leaders. The latest plot twist involves the outright fabrication of evidence (once again), using information taken from the Iranian-supplied weapons used by America’s own allies in the Badr Brigade, to implicate al-Sadr and the patriotic opposition he commands (and by implication Iran and Hezbollah), in a classic “false flag” maneuver.
Petraeus’ “date-stamped Iranian weapons” gambit was supposed to set the stage for an American air strike against Revolutionary Guard training camps in Iran. Allegedly, these camps are where the Badr forces receive their weaponry and their advanced war-fighting training, supposedly from Arabic-speaking Hezbollah veterans. In this regard, American forces have established a new base near here, against the will of the Iraqi government, on the border between Basra, Ifaq and Shalamcheh, Iran.  http://www.presstv.com/detail.aspx?id=53819&sectionid=351020101

According to Chris Floyd in his latest article, “Feeding Moloch,” the US felt it had its smoking gun, solid evidence that would prove that Iran had crossed the red line of killing Americans. In the words of CIA Director Michael Hayden:
"It is my opinion, it is the policy of the Iranian government, approved to highest level of that government, to facilitate the killing of Americans in Iraq,"

The London Times reported that the US is drawing-up plans for a
“surgical strike on a militant training camp across the border in Khuzestan.”
Neocon mouthpiece (or is it neocon mustache?) John Bolton said that:
“the use of military force against a training camp to show the Iranians we’re not going to tolerate this is really the most prudent thing to do.”
[This camp is one of those cited in the recent Lieberman-Kyl Amendment, when the Iranian Revolutionary Guard was named as a terrorist organization, in a prelude to an attack upon IRG and Hezbollah forces.]  http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/F?r110:1:./temp/~r110VFg92Z:e89431

This training camp is about 100 miles from the controversial new US military station near Shalamcheh. It is possible that the action will begin with a surgical strike on Iranian facilities, but I think that it is more likely that the hostility against Iran will remain in the covert category for now. Andrew Cockburn reports that:
“Six weeks ago, President Bush signed a secret finding authorizing a covert offensive against the Iranian regime that, according to those familiar with its contents, ‘unprecedented in its scope.’
[This] clears the way, for example, for full support for the military arm of Mujahedin-e Khalq [MEK], the cultish Iranian opposition group, despite its enduring position on the State Department's list of terrorist groups.”
 http://www.counterpunch.org/andrew05022008.html

The MEK is a terrorist organization, yet it is protected by US forces within Iraq, as it (and other terrorist groups, such as Jundallah and PJAK) are used to stage attacks within Iran, under US direction. It has been the only source for “intelligence” on Iran’s alleged nuclear bomb program. It has also been a main source for information on Iranian support of Iraqi groups, in particular, the Badr Brigade. According to the MEK site (National Council of Resistance of Iran), it has a list of 32,000 Iranian agents in Iraq, most of them in the Badr movement.  http://www.ncr-iran.org/content/view/2814/1/ The website documents the Iranian transfer of weapons to these US allies in the Badr Brigade, transporting them through the Shalemcheh border crossing.

Mr. Cockburn’s report builds on the information provided by Seymour Hersh in 2005 about the American/Israeli use of Sunni terrorists within Iran to stage attacks and gather information for a wider campaign against the Iranian power structure.  http://www.democracynow.org/2005/1/18/seymour_hersh_u_s_conducting_covert

If Cockburn is correct, that Bush signed a secret finding around the middle of March, authorizing regime change attacks in Iran, then this might help to explain the April 12 attack on the mosque of an anti-Wahabi Shiite cleric in Shiraz, or the following bombing of a similar mosque in nearby Yemen on May 2. Iran quickly denied that their mosque had been attacked, claiming that it was instead, a storage accident. The revelation that both car-bombers were attacking the outposts of anti-Wahabi clerics identifies the bombers as probable Saudis, or Saudi-supported “al Qaida.” The hidden hand of the Saudis, like the ever-present Mossad, is becoming careless, leaving its tell-tale fingerprints all over the escalating terror war.

If a local enemy of the US/Saudi/Israeli axis of evil is killed with a car bomb it was probably CIA or Mossad; if it was a suicide bomber it was probably Saudi. This is why most of the suicide bombers in Iraq have been identified as Saudis. CIA piggybacks its terrorism upon Mossad deceptions, while utilizing its Saudi collaborators and financiers to provide the Sunni tribal connections that are necessary to arrange most of the attacks.

The recent spate of bombings and assassinations that has been directed at Iran and its allies gives ample evidence that a low-level war is being waged upon Iran, Iraq, Syria, Palestine and Lebanon by the American axis of evil. But the new offensive began long before Bush’s alleged covert order was issued in mid-March. The following timeline lists most of the recent hostilities:

September 2007 air strike near Deir al-Zor, Syria
January 6, 2008 Five Iranian gunboats threatened US warships
Jan 23 Gaza/Egypt wall blown-up
February 1, 2008 Undersea cable-cutting in Persian Gulf and near Egypt
February 12 Hezbollah commander Imad Mughniyah car bomb
February 27 Israel begins 6 day invasion Gaza
Mar 5 Israeli Forces Enter South Gaza
Apr 10 USS Typhoon fired warning shots
April 12 Shiraz, Iran Shiite mosque bombed
April 24 U.S. cargo ship fires warning shots
May 2 Saada, Yemen Shiite mosque bombed

It is easy to see the American and Israeli interest in the above events, but the Saudi hand is usually hidden by many more levels of duplicitous obfuscation and deliberate media cover-up. Their fellow Sunni tribesmen have been the only ones who have been able to expose secret Saudi involvement in politically-motivated Middle Eastern attacks. A high-ranking defense official in Saudi Arabia's embassy in Damascus was arrested by Syrian security forces, for the car bomb assassination of Hezbollah commander Imad Mughniyah.  http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1207649966110&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull

In Lebanon, the Daily Star reported on May 06 that Former Minister Wiam Wahhab charged that Rafik Hariri was killed on February 14, 2005 by a “Saudi suicide bomber.”
 http://dailystar.com.lb/article.asp?edition_id=1&categ_id=2&article_id=91759
Wahhab then blasted Saudi ally Fouad Siniora for launching a “15-year war of economics against the Lebanese people.”

"The orders given by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal are influencing the ground after they influenced politics especially following the sudden attacks launched by MPs Walid Jumblatt and Saad Hariri against Hizbullah and the opposition... Saudi-funded militias [were staging terror attacks]...This provocation requires that the Saudi ambassador in Lebanon, who is complementing the US ambassador's role, be chastised.” Wahhab said that Saudi financial activities were creating chaos.

The Hariri assassination, like the car-bombing of the investigator of his murder (Internal Security Forces Major Wissam Eid) and all the following hits on pro-Syrian individuals, were blamed on the Syrians. The new manufactured “truth” was then used to create an international outcry for a UN investigation to ferret-out the hidden Syrian. The former chief of France's internal security service Yves Bonnet plainly stated that America’s interests are served by:

"deep Saudi-Israeli cooperation in Lebanon through David Welch's people, namely the head of the Progressive Socialist Party MP Walid Jumblat, Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea, Future Movement chief MP Saad Hariri and the head of the unconstitutional government Fouad Saniora.”  http://www.almanar.com.lb/NewsSite/NewsDetails.aspx?id=35185&language=en

Bonnet charged that this axis of evil intended to turn Lebanon into its battleground to eliminate Hezbollah and to challenge Syria. Like the Daily Star’s report on the Saudis sowing financial chaos, the French intelligence chief accused the United States and Israel of acting in unison to obstruct the formation of a national unity government, “because divisions in Lebanon serve Israel's interests in the first place.”

It is obvious to anyone who opens their eyes to the truth that the American terror war has two fronts, the actual war front and the propaganda war being fought on the American home front and in the court of international opinion. It is here on the home front that the war to save freedom will be won or lost. The mainstream media has chosen to wage war against American minds and our Constitution on behalf of the corporate government. Their method of operation is to intercept incoming news about the real war and to flip it, using the new censored or fabricated version in place of the truth We the People must save our freedom of the press by destroying the corporate American press. We do this by ignoring it en masse and targeting the corporate owners’ interests for economic actions. The alternative press has the truth about the war, the destructive failing strategy being followed and the corrupt motives for it. It is up to us freedom-fighters in the antiwar movement to get word of the truth out to those who have been kept in the dark.

The Axis has focused Bush’s bloody desire for a final orgasmic cataclysm upon two potential victims, Iran and Lebanon. While we fuss and fume about the greater war and Iran’s fate, we are distracted from the probably site of the drama set to unfold in poor, innocent Lebanon. Once the American/Israeli action gets going there, the rest of Israel’s unfortunate neighbors will find themselves in a free fire zone as the devastation spreads throughout the region. Iran promises to be a second act. The world ignores Lebanon at its own peril.

To this end, and to allow some flexibility of choice, Bush has quietly passed a series of Executive Orders authorizing the blocking of the assets of anyone who helps, or speaks-out for any of the targeted nations –

Syria: Executive Order: Blocking Property of Additional Persons in Connection with the National Emergency with Respect to Syria  http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2008/02/20080213-7.html

Iraq: Executive Order: Blocking Property of Certain Persons Who Threaten Stabilization Efforts in Iraq  http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/07/20070717-3.html

Lebanon: Executive Order: Blocking Property of Persons Undermining the Sovereignty of Lebanon or Its Democratic Processes and Institutions  http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/08/20070802-1.html

Iran: Continuation of the National Emergency with Respect to Iran (March 12, 2008)
 http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2008/03/20080312-7.html

David Welch has warned us that it is going to be a very long “hot summer” in the Middle East.
