Murray Bookchin | 09.05.2008 12:31

Greens overall still doing better than BNP& have been most effective radical party for over 30 yrs in UK & growing.BNP have just lost 3 councillors after resignations in Wales.
They are also social libertarians against fascism,id cards & have helped lead charge on proportional representation& health & safety issues to do with dodgy tech only usually touched by eco protesters or unions.

Social Libertarian?

09.05.2008 14:15

Social Libertarian? that doesn' t mean anything does it. Especially since the Greens are all too happy to use the State machinary to build up their power rather than enabling the cities millions of working class people to take power back.

Social Libertarians? More like bollocks.

The dark side of the great British electorate

is that the London-wide voting shares for the Tories and Labour as well as the BNP are rose on 2004 whereas they fell for the Greens and spectacularly for the Lib Dems.

Whilst....

...the greens are not doing as well as I would like, they are still the only viable option in my neck of the woods...so I voted for them in the locals.

Anyway, in reply to the first reply to this news article...you are right they are not taking as much of the vote as the BNP in some areas...but the article is focusing on the wider picture, which shows them ahead of the BNP.

Lets use all good tactics we can, including what voting rights we have left to get there. Yes we need workers council & cooperatives taking over too & taking on more responsibility, yes. Also theres nothing wrong with union jack lets reclaim it, our grandparents fought for us in WW2 & most believed in Universal declaration of human rights even if it was used for propaganda at the time.
Theres more than one way to destroy class barriers & enable good working class to rise! Yes parliament isnt the only one,but thats were we are, most power isnt held in parliament anyway, its held by "Men in Black" & organised corporations mainly at the moment, lets get with the programme, we have to do everything sensible we can& as safely as possible. How many anarchists-social libertarians workers work for major corporations-universities?, but its ok cos they arent dirtying hands with parliament? no they are working in network often more powerful!
That is the system we live in, though we can-must change things!!!
If we dont get true peoples federated control with consensus, workers-peoples councils& cooperatives soon & enforce moratorium on dodgy technologies etc life really is f@@ked, this is reality never mind the sodding BNP, they are a distraction.
Stop whining about BNP & be positive about something, they are a bunch of severley misled people led by perverted nazi's
The greens offer best chance in one way to help achieve this with help & cooperation from other decent democrats in International cooperative alliance who try to respect democracy & mutual aid. A Universal declaration of Human rights needs reinvigorating & enforcing by disciplined international brigade peacekeepers.
Not perfect. All we have to do is organise, we don't necessarily have to use any violence except in self defence against worst reactionaires or fash,
if we organise soon & use power of love, we will avoid rise of the machines;)

Anyone got any better ideas???

que comments about sexism of pretty girl with union hat on??? Left is sometimes almost as repressed as PC fascists in BNP, but they are led by a bunch of no hoper pervert worshipping nazis the Great "British" nazi nonce lover party

For sure, I don't have any worse ideas. What a muppet. Most of the Green party are middle-class hypocritical politcal careerists. They buy the Cops more bikes to save the environment. They run against peace candidates to save the environment. They work with a genocidal government to save the environment. And then they fly off on their holidays to follow the motor-racing circuit.

The only potential value UK Greens have for the environment is as compost. Murray Bookchin is pushing up daisies so is at last doing something useful but even he would condemned the use of his name in this article.

Middle class,bollox

13.05.2008 13:16

you could arguemany people in class war from Ian Bone to an member of current UK aristocracy CWmember who afew years ago did a talk for class war at the bookfair, "middle class". Fred Engels dad was a serious member of the middle class owners of production, Bakunin was also from the old aristocracy so honoured by many anarchists still today was into zionist conspiracies & tainted by antijewishness like Marx too. Classes have always, stop being fundamentalist zealots, everyone has relations of one class or another, everyone!!!!!!!!
As for the BNP they were totally organised by jaded toffs, twisted nutter rejects of Mordor & the corporate Tory-Labour party.

Middle class means ownership of the means of production, afew greens come from petite bourgouis backgrounds, a minority middle class-aristocracy but they support social change, are anti war, German greens were a minority who supported invasion of Afghanistan which sadly alot of "antiwar" people were conned into supporting after 911
If coppers ride bikes, so what!, if a copper is ordered to come after me he still usually ends up regretting on a bike or not

Whose a muppet, your arguments belong in the last century, lets all learn abit more about Bakunin & Paul Godwin & stop keeping ourselves the ghetto,
For Freedom

Anti-war eh ?

Why did the Green Party run a candidate against the peace candidate Rose Gentle when other parties stood down in her favour ? Could it be that the candidate was the daughter of a corrupt Labour party careerist ?

Why did the Greens cut a deal with the genocidal Labour party in London ? Does that mean the Shock and Awe campaign is environmentally friendly, or just that the sort of sociopathic shits that join political parties and stand for election care for nothing other than themselves regardless of the crap they spout to appear electable ?

This is the 21st century and in the 21st century the capital G Greens have proven their allegiances are soley personal. Now go and ask Daddy for a gap-year travelling the world working on eco-projects.
