Anti-BNP demo @ London Mayoral election result

revolting london | 30.04.2008 14:21 | Anti-racism | Social Struggles | London

Demonstration against the BNP at the London Mayoral election result
Friday 2nd May
6pm - City Hall

The BNP are standing candidates for both London Mayor and the London Assembly on May 1st. Given the voting system they are set to gain 2 seats on the Greater London assembly giving them a say on how London is run and further legitimising their racist views and fascist ideology.

On May 2nd they will, along with the other candidates, be at City Hall for the election results.

As anti-fascists we are determined not to allow them to take the platform (or get anywhere near City Hall) to celebrate their victory. We must confront fascism on all fronts.

Just as ordinary Londoners fought Mosley and the blackshirts back in 1936 so we call on ordinary Londoners to fight the fascists in 2008.

No platform for the BNP.

SAD DAY !

30.04.2008 15:39

I find it a sad day when all the socialist community can do is to commit violence, why can we not put forward a well thought out socialist strategy and candidates to address the working man and his principles, for that is who has turned to the "new socialists " the BNP, who are now the party of the working class.
The only way to defeat them is to stand against them, steal the working class vote back, to represent the workers, to address the Needs of all workers and not to leave this void for the BNP to fill.
Sure you can use thuggery to intimidate them from turning up at the count, but they will still be tipping boxes of BNP votes out on to counting tables and probably getting elected places, what do we have in return, half bricks, insults and violence, they will have the power.

SAD DAY !

But surely the vote has been given away by the politicians to the corporations ( food, oil, weapons, 'security', energy, land, and mineral etc resources, and money ). We don't have a say on the politicians masters or the psycopthic Malthusian thinktanks and roundtables who 'advise'(sic) and control the puppet governments nor the media moguls doing ditto and persuading the public it is either OK or that they have no power to stop it ( except or the voting sham ). Also neo-fascists on the whole.

'the BNP, who are now the party of the working class'

What a load of crap. The BNP represents the working class about as much as the present incarnation of the Labour Party, but at least the latter wouldn't happily string up all its opposition if it got the chance.

Go for it, revolting london. Some of us fight the fascists through the internet, some on the streets. I'm a bit past street activity but I applaud those who are willing and able to take it on. If they're allowed in via the ballot box to a point where they have real power, we'll ALL have to fight them on the streets, like it or not.

Sad demo from sad people

It is sad that someone demonstrates against a small fascist party like the BNP but crosses its arms when the biggest and most dangerous fascist party the UK has wins the elections, that party is of course the Labour Party, full of blood on its hands.
