UoB Friends of Palestine first Event!

The UoB Friends of Palestine Society are having there first event. Joe Lee, a UoB graduate, will share his experiences as a human rights worker in the West Bank, and will introduce the acclaimed documentary OCCUPATION 101. After the documentary there will be a Q&A session with Joe Lee. Before, during and after the documentary students can also become members of the Friends of Palestine Society.
On the 8th of May 2008 the UoB Friends of Palestine Society will be having its first meeting.
The main guest will be the UoB Graduate Joe Lee, who will talk about his experiences as a human rights worker in the West Bank.
Joe Lee will also introduce the acclaimed documentary OCCUPATION 101. This documentary shows several aspects of Palestinian life under occupation, as well as some of the causes and solutions to the conflict in large. Occupation 101 has won many awards, among whom 'Best Documentary' at the East Lansing, River's Edge and Deadcenter Film Festivals.
Before, during and after the showing of the documentary people will also be able to become official members of the UoB Friends of Palestine Society. Membership will be for the rest of this year, and the whole of the next academic year. The UoB Friends of Palestine Society is hoping to become the biggest and most active student group on campus, and is asking all to come. For those interested the Facebook event page is:
