Necta axed when e.europe workers seem2be going back with$crisis, eco coops needed

green syndicalist | 19.04.2008 15:23

Necta has had problems with funding & shut down with excuse of amount of people employing e.european builders& cuts in funding.Debt collectors came in this week to Necta's office on carlton rd & took everything apparently, not sure about the site on hungerhill. Robin Hood chase centre facing the axe now too!

RE hungerhill , bailiffs do not have to be let in & they cant force entry legally, worth checking if anyone is liable, ask lawyers, its true.Well done to those who kept it going, there is definetely a need for a builder workers cooperative.
There is definetely a need for a workers cooperative, doing external marmarite etc insulations& modern wattle & daub, rammed earth+strawbale techniques which are cheaper & more sustainable. Anyone interested can email me & I will try & help arrange a meeting at Sumac centre with other builders.

Robin Hood chase centre is apparently possibly having its funding pulled, this is disgraceful, hopefully a cooperative can take it over. I helped do building there with Pete White one of the Necta foreman.
Mr Collins what is going on, labour party will held accountable for this at election, why do you always do this to social enterprises even when successful fork out trillions for oil-arm companies who mostly do not seem to care about people or planet

Support the Chase neighbourhood centre! holder of poineering environmentalism

20.04.2008 18:07

I had to rush this article, apparently word is Chase has had funding problems & a review of premises licence with
neighbourhood licencesing committee.
Still its green roof is an example way ahead of its time & well done to those who supported it, but what has happened since? why are rumours it may shut down

Chase has been vital to local commnunity organising in St anns a vital asset to maintain community integrity, business etc. Holder of pioneering environmentalist meetings & a beacon with its waterproof membrane & self maintaining green grass roof, now wanted by many after the method has been shown on DIY home TV shows. As a low cost method of insulating their roofs, helping the environment & providing more green space.

Well done to Necta & Peter White for making this happen.Pete also laid the foundations for the strawbale supershed at Ecoworks. Now Pete lives in France with his family where planning is easier for ecology, he has emphasemia from asbestos & other dodgy man made fibres after working half his life in conventional building. Inspired a lot people in Nottingham & a far.

Chase has applied for a events licence, Necta was involved in doing pioneering v.low maintenance green roofs with water proof membrane on Chase centre where I worked on fitting the interior about 9 years ago. Also it has held groundbreaking environmental meetings in last decade.
