Beekeepers report colony collapse, but 100O organic Honey Bees keepers in N.America say theirs are doing well.Farmers need to stop using pesticides,gm etc & go as organic as possible to keep pollinate of crops going & save soil structure from chemicals. Defra needs encouraging to support Organic honey bee keepers & we all need to keep nettles & other beefriendly plants asap otherwise crops could be severley effected
Praise B for the Organic & natural Honey Bees!!!!!

If your worried about bees disappearing& plants not getting pollinated google organic honey bees collapse disorder, in North america were GM is used & pesticides are used even more widely 1000 organic honey beekeepers havent had any reports of collapse disorder which has been happening there longer.
None of this is pasted check links below though for verifying info

Praise B for the Organic & natural Honey Bees!!!!!

We have to do all we can to support our environment from climate change & crazy"science" GM experiments like Chimera dog-human embryro going thru parliment, at moment best thing to do is petition your mp

bumble bees alive&many grain crops pollinate by wind, but honey bees still vital

17.04.2008 19:31

Remember you maybe seeing honey bees about Ive seen one, but I dont know anyone who has seen the smaller honey bees who do a lot of the pollination. The naturally mixed african-european bees produce honey & may actually help save us, but organic is best.
Wether or organic or not honey needs to be rationed & organic honey bee keepers need subsidy & support by farmers & government+ration or stop having honey.

"What's scaring researchers is that waxworm moths and hive beetles ignore the honey that's left behind, when they'd usually be immediately upon it to scavenger whatever was abandoned."

I Heard about the collapse disorder afew days ago, mentioned organics to BBC this morning organcic bee research & refered them to indymedia, after their paniced reports early this morning of bee collapses.

"Sharon Labchuk who first reported organic bees were doing better is a longtime environmental activist and part-time organic beekeeper from Prince Edward Island. She has twice run for a seat in Ottawa's House of Commons, making strong showings around 5% for Canada's fledgling Green Party."

Scientific report that chemicals & pesticides are largely to blame

Scientific report on bee collapses you mentioned to me earlier GS supporting data that chemicals & pesticides are largely to blame as other factors bees have not evolved with

Why Organic Bees Are Okay

19.04.2008 11:43

Autopsies carried out on CCD bees show a number of maladies such as mite and virus damage.
IAPV, the "Israeli acute paralysis virus" was confusingly named after where it was discovered even though it is an Australian bee virus. It has caused genetic damage in 90 % of CCD bees, and it's arrival in commercial bee imports coincided with this CCD event. [1]

Organic bee colonies are not dying off. One organic bee keeper explains this in terms of the size of the cells in commercial hives. Commercial hives have cells that are 10% bigger than feral hives, to produce bees that are 50% bigger . These bigger bees spend more time 'capped off' in by wax in as larvae, which is when they are vunerable to mites.
Even 'Organic' certification for bees allows the use of less toxic chemicals.

"The factory farm aspects of beekeeping, combined with an onslaught of negative environmental factors, puts enough stress on the colonies that they are more susceptible to dying out." [2]

"By letting the bees build natural sized cells, I have virtually eliminated my Varroa and Tracheal mite problems. One cause of this is shorter capping times by one day and shorter post capping times by one day. This means less Varroa get into the cells and less Varroa reproduce in the cells. " [3]

Alot of info on this link on CCD,+ info on EMF frequency effecting bees

21.04.2008 13:44

www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2008/02/392060.html
“In 1974, the Russian researchers Eskov and Sapozhnikov found that bees generate electromagnetic signals with a modulation frequency between 180 and 250 Hz when they do their communications dances. (It is important to note that our GSM mobile sys-tem is modulated with 217 Hz). Hungry bees react to those frequencies by erect-ing their antennae [8]. Warnke reported that the communication impulses of the antennae when touched by a fellow bee can be measured with an oscillograph [9].”

Germany company Bayer have been selling beekilling insecticides banned in

Germany& France.  http://www.leedsbeekeepers.org.uk/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=438  http://www.i-sis.org.uk/honeybeePesticideBan.php

The Cooperative farms the UKs largest farmer reassures me they never use these types of insecticide. Local beekeepers at Stonebridge farm,st annes, nottingham tell me that giving the bees more room & treating them with care has saved hives.
