Netanya-based company to provide American telephony company with platform enabling providers to offer customer rich digital entertainment content over residential networks while minimizing network resources

The Netanya-based software company Jungo, which develops software solutions for the digital home and office, signed a deal worth USD 4 million with an American telephony company.

According to the agreement, Jungo will provide the American company with the OpenRG software platform, to maximize Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) capabilities for residential gateways.

Company officials said that the platform enables the telephony service providers offer their clients richer and more varied digital entertainment
software, which will operate over residential networks while minimizing network resources.

The platform, which is remotely installed, enables telephony providers to stay competitive, and offer their customers new revenue-generating services, such as IPTV, video-on-demand (VOD), voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP), and Internet Protocol private branch exchange (IPPBX).

Jungo officials said the remote installation, repair and upgrade capabilities dramatically reduce service providers’ operating costs to the home and office, allowing them to significantly reduce customer service prices.

This software platform was developed by demand of international telephony providers, which view the gateway as the overall solution for all residential communication needs.

Jungo is a private company, which develops broadband residential and business gateway software platforms. The company has a development center in Netanya and other subsidiaries in the US, England and Taiwan. The company was in 1998 founded by its CEO Ofer Vilenski and CTO Derry Shribman.
