There were a few scuffles with police near the Blind Beggar pub in Whitechapel, at the cross roads of Mile End Road, Cambridge Heath Road and Whitechapel Road. Otherwise a fantastic turnout by the locals with some colourful banners.

Whitechapel traders and community hit by Big Business Crossrail hole plot...
Hundreds of people in Whitechapel and adjoining Hrs - especially including the residents of Castlemain Street, LOmas Street, Thrahorn Close and Wodeham Gardens near vallance Road and behind the present Whitechapel underground [tube] station, road and traders and small businesses in and on the Whitechapel road have siteid the Khoodeelaar! campaign against Crossrail hole plot... And they have also backed Khoodeelaar! campaign to present their opposition to the Crossrail, hoe Bill to the legislative UK House of Lords...
None of those people could possibly ‘cheer’ the BBC claiming that ‘massive regeneration; was taking place in Stratford where the ‘Olympics torch that passed through Aldgate East, Whitechapel Road, Mile End Road this afternoon [Sunday 6 April 2008].
Entire communities across the East End of London are being undermined by the Olympics 2012 staging stunt and the Crossrail hole plot will do even more irreversible destruction.....
