The great statin con

Al Asitis | 03.04.2008 20:13

Statins for everyone, profit for the few.

The increased use of statins by the medical fraternity and the promotion of it by this government has to be challenged, especially now the police acpo has reared its head once again in the debate on the classification of cannabis, the statin use in the u.k.alone is above 3 million.
The drug is being prescribed with the knowledge that 99% of recipients who are taking statins will receive No benefit from taking it! The cost is running at £700 million at a conservative estimate.
The G.P`s.get paid a performance bonus under their contract terms for any lowering of cholesterol level observed, however slight,so that puts the £700 million on a base level.
What I am getting at is, the benefits from this 21st.century scam are not only going to the drug dealers and manufacturers They are going into the coffers of the parliamentary pension funds and boosting the share prices of the same people who, if given evidence by G.P`s and users of the side effects of statins, rebuke the evidence as anecdotal .
This country is being governed by the lowest of the lowly scoundrels.
Have no regard for the dignity of human life or the lives of our fellow creatures and prosecute those that protest.
The piss take is well and truly under way.

statins causes muscle wasting amongst other things...

they are simply pointless. The statistics are idiotic. Something like one man in a hundred would live for an extra 4 months if he took statins (at great profit to the drug companies) for over a decade. Then there are all the side effects. Women get the side effects but no statistically quantifiable lifespan extension effect at all. The reason for their ineffectiveness on women is not known. Or indeed made known to doctors who carry on prescribing these drugs to them regardless. Try pu'er tea. This does effect cholesterol but doesn't carry any risks.
