Against treasury rules

03.04.2008 17:14

How come no Government body (such as the NHS) is allowed to keep unspent money? If you don't spend it in the year it was allocated you lose it. SImple. And yet the MRC (a publicly funded body) is allowed to accumulate this money - AGAINST TREASURY RULES! I'm not an animal rights person nor even vegan but I find it astonishing that the MRC is allowed to do this but those of us on the front line trying to do the best we can to save lifes with inadequate funding and decrepit equipment aren't allowed the same financial freedom as the MRC!

Nurse

I agree with the nurse - many people, animal rights or not are aghast at this.

Many of our supporters whether or not they are animal rights {many are not] are aghast at the lab, for many reasons. It is time that parts of the New Labour party stopped giving in to Big Pharma greed and start supporting the people.

Please write to Frank Dobson {MP for the area} and tell him what you think. Tell him that although you might not be in his constitiuncy that this affects you.
Terrorism. Threat of virus leaks. Breaking Treasury rules. Any other reasons you might have.
