Another Three Family's Here to Stay
Over recent years NCADC website has published many campaigns. I just want to update you on the news of some families who managed to succeed to stay in UK and fight their corner to be rewarded with their right to work and settle here.
Over recent years NCADC website has published many campaigns. I just want to update you on the news of some families who managed to succeed to stay in UK and fight their corner to be rewarded with their right to work and settle here.
Magloire Sanou and daughter Teddy were detained for a few months and faced removal to Burkina Faso many times in 2005. They were without a lawyer but campaigning managed to help them avoid removal and to get a top lawyer on their case. Recently the family were granted Discretionary Leave To Remain - but the lawyer thinks it will be smooth operation to get ILR once the DLR expires. The family are settled well in Glasgow.

Blanche Safa and her 2 babies Irina and Pharrell from Huddersfied. They were due to be deported to Congo Brazzaville in 2006. Campaigning and also the efforts from lawyers through Medical Justice ensured the family were not deported and later released. Blanche has just been granted ILR through legacy process AND doing well in Huddersfield.

Asad and Tahira Raja from Pakistan - the family were destitute in Glasgow with a new baby. They were at risk of being arrested and detained. They were to be made homeless around Christmas time in December 2005. The campaign ensured the family were not detained, and the family managed to get Section 4 support granted. In 2007 the family were blessed with another baby and their fresh claim application was to be considered by Home Office (this meant they were moved to NASS support not Section 4 support - made life a lot easier for them). Last week the family were granted Indefinite Leave To Remain.

These 3 cases demonstrate the value of campaigns. It buys time and with time, a case can be sorted out successfully sometimes. Whatever the outcome, at least campaigning does give people a last chance to fight for their lives when facing detention / removal.
Thanks so much to NCADC and supporters for all help with all campaigns. It does make a difference many a time.
