Resumption of Removals to Zimbabwe!
Over the past few days many Zimbabwean's recently refused asylum, have received letters from the Boarder and Immigration Agency (BIA), saying that BIA, "is expecting shortly to be able to enforce returns to Zimbabwe". Most of the recipients of these letter are living in the North east/west of England. Also Zimbabweans with refugee status have received letters asking them if they would like to leave the UK voluntarily for a cash incentive.

Charly and baby Kiefer granted bail yesterday
Charly Julienne Mbongue Ndongo and her 4 months old baby, Kiefer Nkana Moudiki (born in England) were granted bail yesterday. They had been held in Yarl's Wood Immigration Removal Centre and "survived" a deportation attempt. Thanks to everyone who faxed on their behalf. Helen Laolu-Balogun and children, released from detention but exiled to Cardiff
The family have been released from Yarl's Wood and shipped to Cardiff in Wales. They are currently provided accommodation by Clear Springs at a private address. There are no cooking facilities and the family have to make a 10 minute walk three times a day to get their meals at the main building. Helen, speaking to the media on her release, said "It's the little things you notice," she said. "I walked out this morning and felt the fresh air on my skin and the sound of cars passing. For once I appreciated the rain falling on me - the sense of freedom can be amazing."
One cannot but conclude that releasing the family from Yarl's Wood and sending them into exile in Cardiff is a deliberate ploy by BIA to avoid publicity.

Zaman Ahmed still here/Campaign to step up activity
"Zaman is currently detained in Oakington after being rather spitefully refused Chief Immigration Officer bail. His removal directions were cancelled by the Border & Immigration Agency at 12.30pm on the day he was supposed to be removed. He now has a bail hearing on 11th March at Taylor House, and a Judicial Review in place. We still want to carry forward with the campaign, as we believe it has some momentum now and we are hoping to be able to capitalize on this so he is not again threatened with removal."
