Gay Rights billboard poster defaced in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire

Crow | 01.03.2008 20:04 | Cambridge

Gay Rights billboard covered in red paint.

A Stonewall billboard declaring the simple message 'Some people are gay, get over it!' in large letters has been paint bombed and partially obscured with red paint in Huntingdon.

Sinister positioning of adjacent billboard

Even more sinister is the billboard next to it. I didn't notice it before. There are only two adverts at this location and the one next to it is advertising the 'Rocky' films on Sky TV. It has huge letters saying 'Go on, pick a fight' and a picture from behind of a scary looking man (Rocky I suppose) holding his fist in the air! Who chooses which billboards go where? Is it the district council? Is this an incredibly stupid oversight/mistake or a deliberate provocation?
