Protestors demonstrate against B.A.E tank factory.

Feb 14th, valentines day, peace loving folk gathered at the gates of B.A.E sytems on Scotswood road, Newcastle Upon Tyne to celebrate the corruption inqury into fighter jet sales to Saudi Arabia (see www.caat.org.uk).

The factory manufactures Challenger Tanks and Scorpian Attack Vehicles which have been used extensively in Iraq, Afganistan and other places in the so called 'war on terror'.

The peace loving folk handed out pink heart shaped leaflets asking the workers to 'be my valentine and stop making tanks'. Chocolate money was offerered as a bribe for peace as B.A.E systems seem happy to offer and accept the odd 'bung'!

A non-spokesperson for the group said;

"B.A.E. Landsystems is directly profiting from the invasion of Iraq and the war on terror. The manufacture and sale of these weapons is immoral and should be illegal. This government allows companies like B.A.E to profit from the death of innocent human beings to continue its disastrous foriegn policy".
