Meaning of subvertise?

I thought this meant putting together your own spoof adverts that were meant to look like an original advert for the product but which contained a satirical comment or criticism of the product or the company. Or, which make a political and satirical point. I thought this article was about to tell us about some colourful circus poster subvert which was designed to look like the real thing, but which said something unexpected about the cruelty perpetrated against circus animals. Now, that would be fun to do and would make a better point. I've once seen a draft of one, a while back, photo of a lion with red and yellow lettering headline "jumping through hoops" and something in smaller black print about how the animals are beaten and starved to make them "perform".
