Another attempt to remove Christopher and Calvin

Chris and Calvin George are two brothers of a Catholic family which fled from Pakistan to escape death threats and religious persecution. They have been living in Swansea. They are once again threatened with deportation.

The Home Office have set removal directions for the brothers (third attempt) on Pakistan International Airlines flight PK788 from London Heathrow to Karachi at 17:00 on Sunday 10th February 2008.
After their case was turned down by the High Court they made a fresh asylum application, including important new evidence from Pakistan showing the personal dangers they face if deported. It was turned down by the Home Office within four hours !
This case well highlights the unfairness of the Detention Fast-Track system, where the Home Office rush through deportations without giving people time to properly submit evidence, or to move onto the next stage in the legal process.
They have now been given new removal directions despite the fact that their case is yet to be considered by the European Court.
Also, the rest of their family, who claimed asylum earlier, are currently waiting to hear if they are to be allowed leave to remain on compassionate grounds. This claim has massive support from their local community. To try to deport the brothers while that claim is still outstanding is another unjust twist in this most unjust tale.
