Stop the BNP in Brinsley gains ground

Antifash | 20.01.2008 22:58 | Anti-racism

Anti-fascist campaigners from Brinsley and Notts successfully leafletted Brinsley today. We showed that we will not be intimidated by fascist thugs, and will continue to be active in the area.

The leaflets made clear to the residents of Brinsley what kind of character their councillor, Sadie Graham is, and what kind of regressive politics she represents.

The split in the BNP has prompted all kinds of mud-slinging, and recent quotes from people like Nick Griffin and Graham show clearly that both those left in the party, and Graham's new faction, are violent and racist Nazis dressing up as 'ordinary politicians'.

The question we have for the likes of Graham is: If you knew that your former allies were Nazis, why did you carry on in their party for so long? The answer, of course, is that she represents exactly the same kind of values.

Whilst Graham has been spending so much of her time involved in a thwarted attempt at a coup in her party, what has she been doing for the people of Brinsley? Not a lot it would seem. She's too busy furthering her own career in the fascist movement to pay attention to local issues.

The last time anti-fascists leafletted Brinsley they were told by Sadie's goons that they had 10 minutes to leave Brinsley. They also tried to block the activists' cars:  https://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/regions/nottinghamshire/2007/12/388067.html

It seems those brave fascist heroes must have lost their bottle today, because the anti-fascists leafletted unopposed. It seems that Sadie did call the cops for protection though, because one bemused copper eventually turned up to tell us that he'd expected us to be there yesterday!

Things aren't looking good for the 'Real BNP' who seem to be losing control of the streets almost as fast as they're stabbing each other in the backs.

You leafleted only once you had guaranteed massive police protection.
If you had not done so we would have hurt you.
We are not stupid and we will not get ourselves arrested.

There will be other opportunities in the future for us to hunt you down, and as the old saying goes - you have to be lucky every time, but we only have to get lucky once.
Come back real soon please.

watching & waiting
