A peaceful vigil will be held outside HMP and YOI Styal, Cheshire
on Friday 18 January 2008, 1.30-4.00 pm
to mark the 5th anniversary of the death of Sarah Elizabeth Campbell, 18
who died in the 'care' of the jail on 18 January 2003
Flowers will be laid in memory of Sarah; all are welcome to attend

(1) Prison address: HMP & YOI Styal, Styal Road, Styal, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 4HR.
(2) Banners will be displayed outside the prison. Photographers and reporters are welcome to attend.
(3) Sarah was the youngest of six women to die in an appalling sequence of six deaths at Styal Prison between August 2002-August 2003 - described as "a clear example of corporate manslaughter" (INQUEST, London):  http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/pr/fr/-/1/hi/magazine/3955735.stm
(4) 2003: the Home Office recorded Sarah's death as "self-inflicted".
(5) 2005: the inquest jury did not return a 'suicide' verdict but said, in a highly critical and detailed narrative, that a "failure in the duty of care", and "avoidable delays" in summoning the ambulance, contributed to her death. Cause of death: antidepressant prescription drug poisoning.
