Operation Gladio - NATO's Secret Armies, P1 and P2`Lodge explained

Tony Gosling | 10.01.2008 20:44 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | Terror War | World

According to several whistleblowers Gladio was one of NATOs most Top Secret Operations ever. The plan was ostenibly to plant arms caches and train saboterus to operate behind enemy lines should the Soviet Union invade Europe.
In fact these arms caches were used by fascists officer cardres and specially selected NATO Special Forces soldiers to ferment terror in Europe that was then blamed on the far left.
At least three murderous terror groups associated with left-wing political causes in Europe have since been exposed as no more than NATO Intelligence 'front organisations'.

The authorities used the NATO bombings as an excuse to arrest the leaders of the legitimate political arms of these groups, including trades unions.
The Red Brigades in Italy; Baader Meinhof in Germany and Action Direct in Belgium.
Targets of these groups didn't appear to make sense politically.
The Strategy of Tension.
Not satisfied with waiting until the Soviets invaded, not even until the communists were elected in Italy, NATO decided to act against the left to ensure it did not get into power in the first place.
What was originally a legitimate defence initiative gradually turned into a systematic undermining of democracy in Italy during the 1960s, 70s and 80s.
The BBC Timewatch series covered Operation Gladio back in 1993 but copies of the three programmes can be very hard to find.
Swiss historian Danielle Ganser's book 'NATO's Secret Armies' is one of the best resources available on Operation Gladio, the operationbs end of a clandestine Neo-Nazi intelligence group operating within the safety and secrecy of NATO in Brussels.
History of the P1 and P2 Masonic Lodges in Italy and political interfernce in Eurpoean Democracy post World War II.

Delete right wing scum

10.01.2008 21:16

This shit bag Tarperly had better not talk about Italy in he 1970's he openly boasts about helping to fit up Toni Negri and help the repression of the autonomist left during this time. He and his collaborators need to be deleted from both Indymedia and physically confronted where ever they raise their scummy heads.

Webster Tarpley and the jailing of Tony Negri

10.01.2008 21:26

Some of the comments on this article are interesting on Webster Tarpley, Gladio and the jailing of Tony Negri:

 http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2007/11/385261.html

Specifically:

 http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2007/11/385261.html?c=on#c184014

Basically Webster Tarpley boasts in his book that he played a role in getting him framed for a Gladio conducted murder he had nothing to do with.

Background info from Ralph Schoenman

10.01.2008 21:40

This one hour radio show from last November is interesting:

 http://visibility911.libsyn.com/index.php?post_id=275728#

In it Ralph Schoenman says that during the time that Webster Tarpley was at the top of Lyndon_LaRouche's organisation it was, in effect, run by the CIA... He also makes some other points about Webster Tarpley:

"Discussions include the "Kennebunkport Warning" (  http://arabesque911.blogspot.com/search/label/Kennebunkport%20Warning ) and the recent disruptive and divisive accusations (  http://visibility911.com/blog/?p=229 ) by Webster Tarpley against prominent peace and 9-11 activists."

Talking of 'Baader-Meinhof'. A few years back the German equivalent of the SAS, GSG-9 were involved in a controversial incident where an active member of the R.A.F. was killed. The GSG-9 maintained the guy had shot himself. But there was much speculation that the official story didn't stack up.

There were also rumours that GSG-9 were running a book on who would get the kill.

Sorry, no English link I could find:

 http://www.rafinfo.de/hist/kap15.php

But alas, R.A.F. members have had a tendency of effecting difficult suicides.

Then we also have the totally strange case of Alfred Herrhausen. Chairman of the Deutsche Bank:

The R.A.F got fitted up by witnesses likely coached by German equivalent to MI5 (BVS). I believe till this day there have been no prosecutions brought.
