McDonald's celebrates 25 years in Lincoln

Keith Parkins | 07.01.2008 11:43 | Globalisation | Health | World

On Saturday, McDonald's celebrated 25 years of serving junk food in Lincoln.

McDonald's were given a full-page spread in the Lincolnshire Echo today to celebrate that they had been serving their junk food in Lincoln for a quarter of a century.

An independent restaurant serving quality food, would be a cause for celebration.

McDonald's closing down would be a cause for celebration.

That McDonald's has been serving junk food for a quarter of a century is no cause for celebration, and it is a sad state of affairs the the Lincolnshire Echo should feel otherwise.

The kids eating in McDonald's will be lucky if they see past their 30th birthday, the parents who take their kids to McDonald's should be charged with child abuse.

Celebration!

Sorry but I have just come across this article while looking for the address of my work place - which happens to be a McDonald's!

I read through this, what seems to be a shallow attempt at an article! Some thoughts popped into my head whilst reading it - have you seen the new revised Happy Meal for children?, have you seen the new menu? and also have you seen the condition in which we do our job to make sure we give out the best quality food!

Today we have such and wide range of products with the best ingredients that it's a shame people are still shooting us down for something we no longer do! We no longer supply the 'super size' option, we discontinued the 'Big Tasty', and we brought in salads, fruit bags, less salt and no preservatives in most of our food. We also brought out recently new chicken selects & legends which are made from the best Chicken strips. These are all cause for celebration, especially for the people that work behind the counter.

Plus if people are so offended by the food we offer that bu all means don't visit our stores but as due to public demand in Lincoln McDonald's operates 5 stores, one of which goes 24/7 in April and all other stores opening from 5 am till late hours varying across the city that won't happen soon!

Thank You for listening to a McDonald's Employees View
