Bhutto's Last Address: Pakistan In Danger From Outside
India Post | 30.12.2007 21:39 | Anti-militarism | World
In her last speech before her assassination, Bhutto signaled that she didn't want foreign troops (read: US forces currently stationed in Afghanistan) inside her country to battle Pakistan's internal problems with violence.
It is very doubtful, then, that she would have had any stomach for the kind of agreement, as had already brokered in Islamabad and Washington, for the US to provide Special Service forces to fight on the Pakistani side of the Afghani-Pakistani border.
At the moment this agreement was brokered, she became irrelevant to US foreign policy. And note the date of this article: one day before she was assassinated.
Also note that she told the BBC that if she was murdered, one of the people to investigate was "the man who murdered Osama bin Laden".

Benazir's last address: Pakistan is in danger
Friday, 12.28.2007, 10:22am (GMT-7)
ISLAMABAD: Minutes before she was assassinated, former premier Benazir Bhutto had said her Pakistan People's Party would "save the country" from extremists and terrorists if it was voted to power. "The country is in danger-- bomb blasts are taking place everywhere, be it Swat, South Waziristan or the Eid prayers in Charsadda.
We have to save the country with the power of the people," Bhutto told thousands of PPP supporters at Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi on Thursday. "I appeal all of you to vote for us to save the country," she repeatedly said in her address. The 54-year-old PPP chairperson praised her father Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, saying he had made Pakistan's defense impregnable and put the country on the path of prosperity and democracy. "Nobody could dare to think of breaking the country or doing terror and extremist acts when the People's Party was in power.
But the country had to suffer whenever a dictator took over," she said. Bhutto said that PPP would never let its workers down after coming to power and there would be rule of law in the country. She referred to reports that foreign troops would be sent to help fight resurgent Taliban and al Qaida in the area bordering Afghanistan.
"Why should foreign troops come in? We can take care of this, I can take care of this, you can take care of this," she said. "Political orphans tried hard to delay the polls. They planned the proclamation of emergency rule in the country and wanted President (Pervez) Musharraf to stay in uniform for five more years but all such bids failed miserably," she said.
The 54-year-old leader, who died a few minutes later after she was shot by a suicide attacker, regretted that the year 2007 had witnessed the removal of the Chief Justice of Pakistan "twice", detention of judges of the superior judiciary and the military operation on Islamabad's Lal Masjid that resulted in the loss of over 100 lives.
She said that addressing unemployment, rising inflation and lack of healthcare and education facilities would top the PPP's agenda if it was elected to power.

According to the U S Department of States list of "Independant States in the World", there are 192 countries in the world, all of which except Bhutan, Cuba, Iran and North Korea, have diplomatic relations with the United States.
All of these countries except one (Vatican City) are members of the United Nations.
According to the Department of Defense publication " Active Duty Military Personnel By Regional Area and Country ", the United States has troops in 135 countries.
This means the U S has troops in 70% of the worlds countries.
To the list could be added Diego Garcia, Gibralta and St Helena all controlled by Britain but not considered sovereign countries.
Greenland also has U S troops , but is technically part of Denmark.
Troops in Kosovo and Hong Kong might also be added, but Kosovo comes under Serbia and Hong Kong under China.
The U S Global Empire- an Empire that Alexander the Great, Caesar Augustus, Ghengis Khan, Suleiman the Magniricent, King George V and Darth Vador would have been proud of.
So Mr Not Again, do not be surprised when people are suspicious of U S interference around the globe.
They have a right to be and to say so.

And does it give a breakdown of numbers? Like perhaps having just a handful of USMC on embassy duty in most of those countries? Virtually all countries' embassies have a permanent (rotating) military presence.
There is nothing wrong with being suspicious of the US. But to leap on every international incident and blaming them as a kneejerk it pretty stupid and will only serve to discredit yourself.

It makes total sense to let the industry of chiefly one troll drag the whole place (and other IMC's) into the gutter of Conspiracyland.
It makes no sense whatsoever to ask fundamental questions of anything that is published here and anyone who doesn't accept the veracity of some of the drivel must surely be some "troll". 'Troll' in this context appears to mean: an anti-authoritarian individual prepared to test whether certain information is true of false.
Troll however usually means some sort of disruptive, antisocial online person: starting arguments, posting rubbish, posting off topic, issuing threats... for sake of being disruptive.
Now on IMC, a network that is supposedly anti-authoritarian, anti-racist and designed to counter state propaganda. Do you think that people who willfully post total lies, and very often out of antisemitic motives and attack everyone who questions anything as a 'Zionist Plant!' is a member of IMC demographic or a troll?

If True, Who Made the 'Bin Laden Tape'?

Then we have the conundrum that the names killer has been on death row in Pakistan since Feb 2002. So if the claim is true, either bin Laden has been dead going on 6 years, or ISI let the killer out.
The whole thing is very strange.
I'll make my mind up when someone produces a body and an independently verified DNA match.

Investigation Needed
02.01.2008 04:24
Since Bhutto told the BBC that, not only was Osama bin Laden dead, but that she knew the identity of his killer, we should not only be probing these statements and possibilities, but also asking who made the annual "bin Laden tape", and more importantly, for what purpose.
Bin Laden Dead - Who Made The Tape?
Investigation Needed, indeed!
02.01.2008 15:57
It would be interesting to know if the FBI has talked to Sheikh or intends to. They have an outstanding warrant for bin Laden and a duty to follow up all leads.
It's jumping the gun to state "likely" though. We don't have anything to base a conclusion on. Probability suggests that he his still alive. But with more information things could quickly slant away.
As many people could benefit from the disinfo that he was dead, as could from hiding that is he is dead. And even then we have to rule out error/coincidence before the chickens are all home.
And the day I start believing what any politician tells me is the day I have myself committed.

"Let us hope that not too many of the team will be drawn from the zionist JPA."
Now who is the troll: someone who opposes racism in all its forms or someone who comes to anti-racist site and start posting conspiracy theories about Jews?
The Jewish Police Association doesn't equal Israel. I can't see any statement of Zionist intent on their website. D'you care to elucidate on that point or admit to being a racist troll?
Let's also remind ourselves that this thread is about the Bhutto assasination.
It has jumped quickly to "Israel" is faking bin Laden tapes. An anti-racist isn't allowed to use the word Jew on here anymore going by the hidden comments.
Now we have quite openly the assertion that Jews could be fitting up the investigation. And the poster did quite clearly opine that a Jewish community group may be likely to do the such apparently purely on the basis of their ethnicity alone. Because apparently all Jewish plod are scheming Zionists.
Of course there is no problem with antisemitism on this site. Nothing to see here. Move along, thank you!
