The trial of four men who were in Harmondsworth Immigration Removal Centre the time of the protest there on 28 November 2006 will open on 7 January 2008 and a demonstration will take place at Southwark Crown Court.

The Support the Harmondsworth 4 campaign is supported by London No Borders, Barbed-Wire Britain, Campaign Against Racism and Fascism, Fight Racism! Fight Imperialism, Crossroads Women’s Centre and the National Coalition of Anti-Deportation Campaigns.

Harmondsworth is run by private company Kalyx, a subsidiary of Sodexho. The protest came the day after the publication of a damning inspection report by Chief Inspector of Prisons Anne Owers into conditions and treatment of detainees at Harmondsworth, and was directly triggered by the attempts of members of staff to prevent a group of detainees from watching a news broadcast about the report. Prison riot squads) were drafted in to batter the protesters into submission. About 50 detainees were left in a courtyard all night and others were locked in their rooms even though parts of the detention centre were on fire.

The notice you point to also says that you can register by emailing the imc-uk-features list.

Doing so now would enhance your credibility within the UK collective, I'd imagine, since they haven't seen anything from you yet other than thunderous but anonymous posts, which makes it easy for them to dismiss you as a troll. I'd strongly recommend registering by email; show them you mean what you're saying.

Why was this hidden you ask

21.12.2007 13:19

Simple really because this poster Mike has got the UK IMC admins in a bit of a lather. He has bought out into the open a few facts that were hidden in the past, for example

No admin is elected, they are appointed by the other admins

Their decisions are not publicy available

They are not accountable to anyone but their fellow admins, there is no mechanism for complaint by IMC readers and contributors

They have no fixed term of work but simply go on for as long as they want

There is no system to allow anybody to seek to become an admin, no application form, no on-line webpage - just nothing

Mike is having to travel all the way to the Network meeting in February in Nottingham to make is application face to face as they are refusing to reply to his emails.

Stuff them

Stuff them, they have no right to be here. Send them back to their own country.
