What will happen

on new years eve when thousands will converge on parliment sq and in general within the SOCPA zone,do people need permission to celebrate new year,is this deemed to be a demonstration? Will people be allowed in to the zone or will it be closed off.Just a thought?

Celebrating is safe

You will not need to worry about celebrating. The more the people are distracted by celebrating the less the state needs to be concerned about possible threat to their power. The political masters only need to worry if people are actually thinking about serious issues and attempting to oppose official policy.

id be very careful about any celebrations and such

because it could easily be seen as demonstrating against the end of a year. or, equally worrying, as demonstrating for the beginning of another one.

you could imagine there'd be an odd few or many who'd be demonstrating against people demonstrating within the socpa zone...

oh and remember your bicycle

Ask to demonstrate

People should take the piss of the Labour Party and their police protectors, by asking for permission to demonstrate.

The expression of the new year being 2008 AD will be a demonstration of christian religous conviction. That surely requires permission under SOCPA.
