Report on protest about Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe being invited to the EU-Africa summit in Portugal

Over 30 people attended a protest outside the Portugese embassy in Belgrave Square about their invitation to Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe to attend the EU-African summit in Lisbon, Portugal this weekend. The protest lasted 90 minutes and was filled with chants calling for Mugabe/Zanu out, as well as an inspired ditty to the tune of Bob the Builder entitled Bob the Brutal. There was also some nice singing from the Zimbabweans present. Other attendees included Kate Hoey, the MP who is chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Zimbabwe, and the Trades Union Congress general secretary Brendan Barber.
