I think you have a point to make behind this article, and a valid and valuable one. But I don't think overromanticising over past aged strikes by deploying age old terminology if helpful in understanding the present issue. This is not to downplay the importance of the current strikes or those of the 1980s, both of which I supported. But applying langauge from one to another means we fail to appreciate to specifics of each.

Also, I utterly detest Chris Moyles, but calling him slobby I can only think relates to his size/appearance and thus is hardly progressive.
