Democracy triumphs over totalitarianism in Venezuela amid the sound of chirping crickets on Indymedia. Or maybe it's still a little early in the morning for the leftist layabouts here?

So, what a turn-up for the book: the brave people of Venezuela have narrowly managed to beat back the dictator's latest attempt to impose leftist jackboot thugocracy for life in the name of "socialism". A victory for democracy, as I'm sure you'll all agree here. At least until the Chavista's next putsch attempt...
