Wor Diary 2008 - radical local history

Wor Diary | 02.12.2007 22:14 | Other Press | Social Struggles

Deriving from the Anglo-Saxon word 'oor', 'Wor' is the Geordie word for 'OUR'. Wor Diary 2008 is a practical, radical diary to cover your everyday needs and connect you to the North East's radical history!

Wor Diary is a not-for-profit project, crafted by locals for the love of doing it, and maps a local history of grassroots resistance to oppression.

(didn't realise someone had already advertised - nice one!)
Wor Diary (the D.I.Y, collectively made diary for 2008 made by people in Newcastle to draw inspiration and ideas from our city's fine heritage of protest, rebellion, dignity and mutual aid), is available to order from Friday 7th December (following the 'pub quiz' launch event at the Star and Shadow Cinema on 6th December at 9pm, which follows from 'cinema of the world' at 7pm).

To get wor diary by post, send a cheque for £6 or £5.70 to 'Romoobu Collective' (which is £4 for the diary, and postage at first or second class rates) at P.O.Box 1TA, NE99 1TA. We will post the diary out within 24hrs of receiving such an order, wrapped in our own map drawing of events from wor history. An electronic option will also be available on the website www.wordiary.org at the same price, because it's cost-price! No profits here!

That sounds like a great project. In Liverpool we've done a calendar along similar lines, to be given away free with Nerve magazine.
