Music in the Mist | 26.11.2007 15:34 | Animal Liberation | Climate Chaos | Ecology | London | Oxford

‘Music in the Mist’, an exclusive concert for the international charity- The Gorilla Organization, is set to take place on the 2nd December 2007 at Studio Valbonne, 62 Kingly Street, London W1B 5QN.

Music in the Mist.

The televised event, headlined by Finley Quaye, boasts an amazing line-up of guests including: The Noisettes, Does it Offend You, Yeah?, Channel 4's 3 finalists from 'Mobile Acts Unsigned' and DJs Annie Mac, Jodie Harsh, Nova Dando, Lisa Moorish and The Queens of Noize.

The evening will be hosted by Sadie Frost, Channel 4's Miquita Oliver, E4 Music, Radio 1's and BBC 2’s Nick Grimshaw, the notorious Jodie Harsh and 'Shameless' Rebecca Atkinson and Kelli Hollis.

Celebrity committee members include Sadie Frost, Sienna Miller, Rhys Ifans, Kelly Osbourne, Lisa Moorish and Stella McCartney.

Tickets for 'Music in the Mist' are available at www.ticketweb.co.uk/ or can be purchased on the door from 7pm (limited availability- prior booking recommended).

All profits from ticket sales will go towards helping The Gorilla Organization tackle three of the most fundamental problems of our time: poverty, climate change and animal extinction. The charity’s projects focus upon supporting long-term economic development and conservation projects in poor communities surrounding the gorilla habitat. These measures protect the gorilla habitat from destruction and provide the endangered species with a real fighting chance against their looming extinction.

• There are fewer than 3000 Eastern lowland gorillas remaining in the wild, a figure reduced by over 80% in the last 10 years, as a result of mining techniques and associated hunting activities.

• 10 Mountain Gorillas have been killed this year, while the overall population has declined by over 60% in the last 25 years- largely due to the deadly e-bola virus and logging.

Sadie Frost, one of the key supporters of the charity commented: "Gorillas are one of the most magnificent creatures on our planet, yet sadly they are also one of the most endangered with fewer than 750 mountain gorillas left in the wild. ‘Music in the Mist’ is
giving us the opportunity to do our bit to help save these beautiful animals from extinction".
