could anyone have foreseen the data loss disaster? me neither!
but I do think that the next disaster to hit g brown is much closer to 'ignition;' than any one else has said or indicated.

I do believe that Hain's disaster will be utterly fatal for Gordon Brown...

The whole point of the data loss is that it is the thing that govt. continually warns about and that the private sector paranoidly guards against. Copying is 25million records is no simple task to start with, especially from what is presumably a secure database. Surely this exercise in itself would have had raised questions as to what some fool was trying (and succeeding) to do
