Recycle and Charity

Ilyan | 18.11.2007 17:04

Has there been a deterioration in what is available in Charity chops since Freecycle started in your area?

Good items that the impoverished might have be able to buy in Charity shops are now given away free in a circle of those rich enough to have computers connected to the web.

The Rich get richer, and the Poor do without.

Down with the class society!

Maybe we should have a charity that provides free internet access to the poor. We have a few social centres that do that. Also, free goods are usually available to whom goes and collect them, if they are large items, where that leaves those who do not have a car and cannot pay for transport? Maybe we should not have poor people and rich people. Down with the class society! Equality for all!

free internet access in libraries?

Most of the stuff that appears on freecycle in our areas would not be accepted by charity shops..... unless yours offers paving slabs and electrical equipment?

freecycle is a good source of stuff to sell on Ebay or a bootsale if your incoming emails sound an alarm so you are there to pick the best..

Used properly it can be a good way to meet interesting people. That is enriching too.
