Gary McCartan is a landlord who has properties in many towns in the UK. In the main, he specialises in lets to students. His properties tend to be rather run down and in need of repair. Need less to say, he doesn't want to know about doing repairs.

Tenants who ask for things to be done, or get on the wrong side of him, are dealt with by his henchman, Scott Rayner. When tenants go out, Rayner will enter the place with duplicate keys. He then changes the locks and when the lawful tenant(s) return they are refused access. They are also told that they cannot get their belongings. Rayner says that these will be put out at some stage, that they will have to collect them from the street. They frequently steal things that are useful, or appeal to them.

Try asking the Police, or local authority to take action as they should and you get told that if you pursue this, or go near the place that you have a right to occupy, then you will be charged with harassment. McCartan is known to a certain local authority who toe the line and never take any action against him despite numerous illegal evictions.

Up to now, McCartan and Rayner have got away with illegal evictions many hundreds of times. They do this in various cities and towns in the UK. Be warned and avoid him as a landlord.
