The Home Office doesn't always have it their way, when it comes to deporting people from the UK

Meltem Avcil - Still Here, Still Fighting

Meltem and her mum were woken up just before 2:30am this morning, kept in Yarl's Wood reception for an hour and at 4:00am were put into an escort van and taken to Heathrow Airport.

They were taken onto the plane and according to a very irate Home Office person in Croyden; mother and daughter were so disruptive the Captain of the plane ordered them off.

They are now on their way back to Yarl's Wood.

There will be more about this anon.

Felicia Sakwe didn't fly on Tuesday

Felicia is still in Yarl's Wood, no one came to tell her on Tuesday that she wasn't being removed. Wednesday she was handed a letter saying, there were no escorts available to take her to the airport.

Good news ! Benoit finally released from detention.
Benoit Nzumvira, the young Rwandan that was to be deported in August, separating him from his 12 year old brother, was finally released from detention after a successful bail application on Tuesday and is now back home in Hayes, Middlesex. Benoit's older brother, Gerard, came over from Belgium but wasn't actually allowed in to the bail hearing hearing. Gerard and Benoit are visiting their youngest brother - it's the first time the three brothers will have been together since 1996 when the family was separated during an attack on their refugee camp in the Congo. Many thanks to everyone who helped campaign for Benoit. He is still waiting to hear if his case can be taken to Judicial Review to enable him to make a fresh claim.
