EDO MBM Fishersgate Trashed on Paul Hill's Birthday

Birthday Pixie | 12.11.2007 12:46 | Anti-militarism | Iraq | Palestine | South Coast

Last night 11th November, Armistice Day, was Paul Hills', Managing Director of EDO MBM, birthday...

As a birthday treat for Paul Hills birthday pixies beset EDO MBM Fishersgate in Mill Road last night.

Red paint was daubed on their walls, windows were smashed, glues locked and security cameras trashed

The action was in celebration of Mr Hill's brirthday and also in solidarity with the 12th November blockade of the AWE Aldermaston nuclear weapons facility.

EDO MBM Fishersgate sends deliveries to AWE Aldermaston and has been linked to the production of the Storm Shadow cruise missile, a possible candidate to replace the Trident nuclear missile system

EDO manufacture wepons used against the people of Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan. There has been a direct action campaign against them for the last four years...

i have the utmost respect for you lot for keepin the pressure up come what may. May campaigns say they'll never give in, but few have shown the dedication and genuine variety of tactics that you have.

Keep it up.

On the name - what is EDO MBM Fishergate? This is the same place in brighton that has always been the focus or second place? Is that simply the full name?

EDO MBM Fishersgate

EDO MBM's factory in Fishersgate is the base of EDO Flexible Circuits, the smaller other half of EDO MBM operations in Brighton and Hove.

It employs people using chemicals to etch flexible circuits boards and for the arms industry. This produces fumes that sometimes spread to the rst of the building when the air conditioning breaks down.

It has a seperate factory because of its use of chemical manufacturing processes.

Well done pixies!

Solidarity

Nice one. Solidarity greetings from us at BtB. We managed to bring the traffic at Aldermaston to various degrees of standstilll and chaos, and completely stop traffic at Burghfield. We'll be in touch to see if we can do more together on the links between Fishergate and Aldermaston.

responsible and legal?

and how legal are nuclear weapons?

And how responsible was the decison to keep the UKs WMD system that can be triggered with one aircraft crashing into the faslane sub base?
