Protest outside the Saudi embassy

Protesters came together on the 31st October demonstrate outside the Saudi embassy to show our collective disgust that this opressive, barbaric and murderous regime have been given a warm reception from New Labour.

According to Kim Howells, the UK and Saudi Arabia have shared values. Certainly the House of Saud and New Labour have shared values, corruption being one of them. There was a picket on the 31st Oct. outside the Saudi embassy organised by Socialist Youth Network with speakers such as Jeremy Corbyn, John McDonnell, Geoffrey Bindman, Peter Tatchell, Katy Clark, and Murad Qureshi AM.

The proceedings were ably compered by Socialist Youth Network members, Marsha-Jane Thompson and Owen Jones. Speakers highlighted the barbaric, murderous and highly oppressive regime in Saudi Arabia where rights for women and lesbians and gay men are non-existant. No free elections, and no independent media. And our beloved Government is only too happy to sell this murderous regime arms. As we know the Government put the spanner in the works when the Serious Fraud Office investigated BAE Systems'.

There were around 200+ people at the picket with a large contingent of Arab people making our voices heard opposing Brown and the House of Windsor laying out the red carpet treatment to this barbaric vicious regime.
