Black History Season: Events in Nottingham [October - November 2007]

The national Black History Month (BHM) aims to promote knowledge of black history and experience, share information on positive black contributions to British society and heighten the confidence and awareness of Black people in their cultural heritage. BHM is held every October in the UK, where over 1,000 events will take place nationally.

Nottingham Black History season further celebrates the 200 year anniversary of the Abolition of The Slave Trade Act, and promises something for everyone: talks, exhibitions, film, courses and performance, which celebrate the achievements made since the ending of slavery.
