Every year families and friends of those who die in State custody march from Trafalgar Square in London, England, to Downing Street, the fortified official residence of the Prime Minister.

It is estimated that one person a week is killed by police here, with a further 10 per week who die in State custody. No police are sentence for these deaths, despite some of the deaths being found to be 'unlawful killings' at subsequent inquests.

Sorry to pop the bubble people but.....

I really think that perhaps a good website to visit would be that of Amnesty International. It will make a mockery of the above article and shows that in fact, the UK has one of the most robust, transparent, fair and effective Criminal Justice systems in the world. It also commends the setting up of the IPCC to oversee all investigations into the work of the police and the prison service.

Of course, there are deaths in custody - from overdoses and suicides. According to the IPCC, the last death recorded in custody as a result of restraint by Police Officers/Prison Staff was 12, yes, TWELVE years ago!

Have a search for alleged police brutality. What does it come up with? Almost nothing.

Please now, lets stop this nonsesne, it is embarassing!

Looking at unlawful killing verdicts alone, there was one in 2004, three in 2003 and one in 2000.

Of deaths by police shootings, there was one in 2006, six in 2005, two in 2004, two in 2003, two in 2002, four in 2001 and two in 2000.

Yes and Amnesty are a tad shy about crapping in their own backyard and IPCC are renowned for being hand-in-glove with their chums the cops.
