This small peaceful protest is strictly policed and not allowed near the entrance to Downing Street, though tourists and others are. Instead protesters are made to stand in a metal pen opposite. A delegation from the march is, however, permitted to place their little wreaths and bunches of flowers in an unobtrusive corner of the massive metal gates which protect Downing Street, originally erected there by PM Thatcher.

It is estimated that one person a week is killed by police here, with a further 10 per week who die in State custody. No police are sentence for these deaths, despite some of the deaths being found to be 'unlawful killings' at subsequent inquests.
